Raked / Cathedral

It is critical to consider insulating raked and cathedral ceilings due to the small space between the roof and the ceiling construction.  Each of the products have their own merits.

Consult with Solartex if you need further technical advice.

The following needs to be considered when insulating a raked or cathedral ceiling:

  • Climate Zone
  • Rafter depth: Construction
  • Acoustics: Noise transmission (IIC  Impact and airborne sound transmission)
  • Thermal: Largest energy bill  (winter heating or summer cooling requirements)
  • Plasterboard quality and density (10mm, 13mm, 16mm or multiple layers) and how it is to be fixed to framework
  • Roof covering material used (tiles or metal)
Suitable Products:
  • Autex Polyester Batts
  • Concertina Foil Batts
